A Racing Legend

Whether you follow NASCAR or not, it is no secret that Rusty Wallace is the personification of a true winner, both on the track and off. Over a twenty-year NASCAR career, millions of fans will always remember the fiery Wallace for winning 55 races (eighth all time) and the 1989 season championship in what is now the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Wallace, now also a Nationwide Series car owner, was selected in 1999 as one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers. And most recently in 2010, Rusty was also inducted into the National Motorsports Press Association’s (NMPA) Hall of Fame.

An article in Smart Money compared how timeshare, destination clubs, and fractional properties have fared since the economic downturn. Although fractional sales have slumped along with other areas in the real estate and vacation market, industry watchers say fractionals are still the best bet for properties that will ultimately appreciate.

What’s more, the sales slump has prompted some changes that could benefit newcomers to the market. To better compete, many fractional developments are bulking up their location-swapping programs; some 65 percent now allow members to access some type of exchange, up from 25 percent seven or eight years ago, according to Ragatz Associates. Pacifico Diamante Private Residence Club In Acapulco will join the Interval International network of 2,500 resorts in over 75 countries. Pacifico Diamante PRC will be built in five phases over the next few years, and will feature 200 three- and four-bedroom fractional units. They have been designed with a sophisticated contemporary décor and feature spacious dining and living rooms, marble floors, and private outdoor terraces.

“Pacifico Diamante will provide our members with the opportunity to experience Acapulco — one of Mexico’s oldest and most iconic vacation destinations — from a new vantage point,” noted Marcos Agostini, Interval International’s vice president for Latin America, resort sales and service. “The resort is located in the upscale area of Acapulco Diamante and members will have easy access to some of the city’s finest restaurants and cafés, fashionable boutiques, and nightlife.”
