Everyone dreams of having a vacation home in Florida, but for most, a multi-million-dollar vacation property is just not affordable. By investing in a shared ownership opportunity, or fractional ownership, you can own just as much of a luxury vacation home as you will use. Luxury shared real estate ownership makes a vacation home more practical.

Florida offers white sandy beaches, lively urban areas, and warm lakes.

Is Florida Fractional Ownership for You?

For many of people living up north, spending the winters in the cold is unnecessary when you could spend a few weeks at your fractional residence or Condo Hotel in the Sunshine State. Some people hesitate when buying a vacation home. It can be a significant expense and requires a lot of care and maintenance, but luckily there are other options. If you want the convenience and comfort of a vacation home, but none of the hassle at a fraction of the cost, Florida fractional ownership might be a good idea for you.

Traditional timeshares limit how long you can visit your property, but with a fractional ownership, you can stay for two weeks or even more, making it an excellent option for snowbirds and long-term visitors. Because your investment is a partial ownership, you can pass it down to your children and grandchildren just like a traditional investment.

Orlando

Orlando is full of family-friendly activities and is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world, making it an excellent investment opportunity. Walt Disney World and Universal Studios offer wonderful entertainment opportunities for all ages. The Orlando Magic NBA team plays at Amway Center, which also hosts the Solar Bears hockey team. The University of Central Florida in Orlando has the largest undergraduate enrollment of any university in the U.S.

Although Orlando is not on the beach, it is only a 45-minute drive from several popular local beaches like New Smyrna or Cocoa Beach. Orlando is renowned for its many lakes, resorts, and swimming pools. So, if fun in the sun is what you are after, there’s no shortage in Orlando. Visit one of many wakeboarding parks or rent a boat to explore the Orlando waterways. Go canoeing, golf, or float around in its many natural springs. The City Beautiful, as it is known, has world-class spas and a lively shopping, dining, and cocktail industry like the  Mills/50 neighborhood.

Miami

Miami is the largest city in Florida and the most sophisticated regarding shopping and dining. South Beach offers famous clubs, picturesque architecture, and fabulous beaches. South Beach is also home to some of Miami’s trendiest restaurants as well as the tourist icon, the Versace mansion. Head over to Coconut Grove or Coral Gables for yacht clubs, ocean views, and great shopping if you are looking for a more relaxed atmosphere.

Miami might be a perfect place to party, but it is also family friendly. Kids love the Jungle Island Zoological Park, the beach, and boat rides. Miami is a 45-minute drive from the Everglades National Park. You can even take a shuttle from the city center. Take your kids on an airboat ride to spot terrifying wildlife like giant alligators and pythons.

One of the best things about Miami is that it is easy to access. The Miami International Airport offers worldwide flights daily. You can take a quick cruise to the Bahamas or spend a day in the Keys if you need to get out of town. For a quick change of scenery, make an excursion to the nearby Fort Lauderdale for museums and beaches or take the three-hour road trip to Disney World. Miami is also a travel hub for those traveling to South America.

Destin

For a more laid-back beach retreat, many people love visiting Destin, an oceanfront town on the Gulf of Mexico in an area known as the Emerald Coast, because of the deep green color of the ocean. Destin is beloved for its perfect white sandy beaches, temperate weather, and deep ocean fishing.

Nature lovers should visit one of Destin’s beachfront state parks for nature trails and fun in the sand with the kids. If you visit Destin in the fall, don’t miss the annual Destin Seafood Festival in October. The boardwalk also hosts spectacular views popular with landscape painters and an array of local businesses and restaurants.

Destin is also a great spot for family vacations. The waterpark is a big hit with the kids and the family-friendly beach town Seaside, Florida is just 40 minutes away.
