Corporate Eagle, a Michigan-based company specializing in luxury fractional jets, has recently broken ground on a new private airbase at the St. Pete/Clearwater International Airport. Completion is planned for Fall, 2008.
2008-01-25 12:06:38 – Corporate Eagle Companies has broken ground on a private airbase at St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport in Florida. The Michigan-based company offers fractional jet ownership programs focused on personalized service. Slated for completion in the fall of 2008, the base will be stocked with corporate aircraft, staffed with maintenance crews and pilots, and will be home to an exclusive club of shareholders in private jets.
“Our members tend to be executives with time-critical schedules requiring a private plane, but who do not use the planes enough to warrant purchasing and maintaining their own aircraft,” said Rick Nini, president and CEO of Corporate Eagle Companies. “They don’t want to worry about the inconsistencies of chartering planes by the hour or jet cards. They want the confidence of having quality service with the same facilities, aircraft and crews.”
Because the interiors are outfitted to the members’ needs with their corporate logos on the marquee, their own slippers, blankets and favorite beverages on board, it feels like their own private plane, Nini added.
Enclosed in a private gated section of the southwest corner of the airport, Corporate Eagle’s 32,000-square-foot facility will encompass two hangar bays, a maintenance shop building, and a VIP terminal building. The members-only terminal provides such business conveniences as Wi-Fi and a board room for meetings and concierge services for on-ground travel arrangements. They even arrange to have the members’ cars detailed while they are away.
The aviation services company maintains a fleet of 11 eight- and nine-passenger corporate aircraft, including Hawker 800XPs and King Air B200s. Aircraft are used only by its members; not chartered outside the group as they are in some fractional programs. The firm has its own pilots, maintenance and ground crew, and concierge staff.
Corporate Eagle begins flights from the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport this spring and is accepting reservations and refundable deposits on future airplanes for the Florida base.
Founded in 1985, Corporate Eagle Companies’ headquarters are located at the Oakland County International Airport in Waterford, Michigan (Southeastern Michigan near Pontiac) and can be reached at www.corporateeagle.com or 248-461-9007.
